If you’re wondering whether you should fix your house up before you sell it or sell it as is, the answer depends on your situation. If your home looks great but still needs a little work, you should first find out if anything structural or mechanical isn’t working, such as the HVAC unit or the water heater. These items control the main functions of your home, so if they’re not working, you need to fix them because they will show up on an inspection. You should also fix any other item that’s not working for its intended purpose, because this will also show up on a home inspection, and buyers will request that it gets fixed.

It might be better just to sell the home as is if there are simply too many repairs to make.

When can you skip the repairs and sell your home as is? If you have an older home in an up-and-coming neighborhood, there’s a possibility that buyers will view it as a tear-down/build-up project because they’re only interested in its location, so it’s probably not worth it to fix it up in this case. Additionally, it might be better just to sell the home as is if there are simply too many repairs to make. As always, be sure to consult with a Realtor so you can decide how to best position your home for sale.
